After a few quiet years, the company relaunched in 2023 with a stronger vision: to connect people with Enga’s authentic beauty while empowering local communities.
The Early Years
Waptel Travel & Tours began its journey in 2017, officially registered under IPA. However, from 2018 to 2022, operations were paused as the team worked to strengthen its foundation.
The Relaunch
In 2023, Waptel came back with renewed energy. Community awareness campaigns were launched, tourism sites were identified, and preparations began for sustainable tourism services.
Community Involvement
Unlike many operators, Waptel’s model is rooted in community empowerment. Local people are directly involved in preparing cultural shows, guiding tours, and building eco-friendly lodges. Every tour you book contributes to local jobs and income.

This is the best tour on the east coast! It was amazing how many places we visited and what great memories we made!
This was not our first time going to here. It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
We always stay at here when in town. The location is great, staff is wonderful and we love the overall feel. Beautiful view from the here.
